Hi all, you may have wondered what happened to me... well to tell the truth - I have become addicted to more than one Facebook game. I never thought they would consume so much of my time but I am having a fun time and have found many new gaming friends too. LOL

I will have to schedule time between the games and my crafts so I hope to have something to show you later this week.

Tilda All Dressed Up

Hope you had a wonderful weekend. Mine was great, did the usual chores, errands and am getting totally addicted to Facebook's Farmville game. If you would like to be my neighbor, let me know - I could use more.

Someone very dear to me is struggling with depression. She could use your prayers - many thanks in advance. I am planning to help her out with some activities that are hard for her to do, in hopes of lifting her spirits and not be alone as often.

Now for today's card. For some reason, I really struggled with this card. I guess we all have those days, LOL. I had a hard time deciding on what embellishments to use. I used black for the edges since it seemed to help the colors and design pop out more.

Thinking of You...

Happy Friday!! I can not believe another week has gone by already. I hope you are staying warm and safe where you are, so many are caught in these snow storms.

How is your day going so far? I started mine out with making this card for you. I have a 'new' Tilda and could not wait to ink her up. I followed the Stamped with Fun #40 card sketch challenge and since Tilda is 'new', this card can be submitted to the Papertake Weekly and Cute Card Thursday #94 challenges for it needed to be something 'new'.
She was fun to color and I loved these two colors together.. I am rather partial to earthy colors, what can I say, LOL. I made a beaded accent for that upper corner seemed lonely, lol.

Tilda singing Praises

My goodness, this day is zipping by so quickly. I made a card yesterday for the Sketch Saturday challenge but I felt it needed one more thing... LOL. I also wanted to complete the inside, I will say, that I think the inside turned out pretty nice but it took me a chunk of time this morning to get it done.
The only change I would do, is to cut a white or light coordinating shade to put on the floral section of the black accent on the left side. I put purple glitter glue on it but it does not show up very good. I added glitter to her headband and wings. I used a ribbon flower for her to hold. I used pop dots to have Tilda stand out better. Finally a bird charm that is singing praises to go with the verse inside.

Tilda with Cat

Where does your inspiration come from? Is it the colors, the image, the designer papers or embellishments? I think for me, it will mostly come from the designer papers.... I will select 2-3 that goes together and from there, I chose an image and color it to match, I then select a sketch and embellishments. I will have to admit, I am drawn to earth colors. I would love to know what you do.

I have a fun new card today that is following the Cute Card Thursday #93 sketch. I distressed the edges of the DP with ink so it will also qualify for the Creative Card Crew challenge #42 which was for anything distressed.
I had fun putting this one together, since I was not going to cut out Tilda this time, I used a stamp and some distressing to soften the edges of image. I made my orange ribbon flowers and added a brad to the centers so that they match the other ribbons on the card.
How can you not love that big orange cat....we have two cats ourselves and they are so much fun. Although, I doubt they would appreciate us holding them like that.... LOL.

Tilda with Cross

One of my resolutions is to get more exercise so today I am off to the pool. I go with my sister and we have a good time working out our 'flab'. LOL!!! I will say that I feel refreshed when I get out. Then off we go to the store to look for those special 'low fat', 'low salt' and 'low calorie' items to use in some of our meals... you know what that means - the daunting task of reading labels. LOL

Today I have a quick card for you. I love this Tilda wearing Cross (you can find her at Magnolia-lilious) and I have been wanting to use both of these DP so I used Tilda to pull them all together. The darker flowers on the brown DP is shiny (hard to see it) and I love the DP with the houses. I added matching pearls to the ribbon. The rest is self explanatory. I hope you enjoy it.

Lily Staying Warm

Hello everyone. Hope you survived the holidays and ready to start the new year. I have new resolutions that I want to try to keep as well as many other things on my TO DO list. One big one is to find an at home job, if you know of anything, I would be most grateful for you to send me the info, you can find my email on the side bar.

I am looking for a new blog background so you may see it change from time to time until I find the one I want to keep. I like this one but it is cutting off the cute section at the bottom...it is a picket fence with a pig and sheep. If anyone knows how to make this type of change, I would gladly accept your help.

I have a new card to share with you today. I love this image Lily from Pink Cat Studio, she has many different images to choose from, since it is cold and wet outside, I like her in her winter coat.
I chose the colors of soft green and brown. I used foam snowflakes for an accent, one was kept at the original size and the others, I cut down to fit. I added some brown ink and glitter glue to blend with the design better. I also added some glitter glue to Lily's outfit.

New Years Eve..... and Tilda with Flower

Hard to believe that today is the last day of year 2009, where has the time gone. I did not accomplish as much as I had planned and so next year, it is packed full of a LOT of activities, etc.

How many have made their lists of 'New Years Resolutions'?? I have and it is not just one but several. I have been slack in some areas and this year, I really want to challenge myself to get them moving forward again. So what are they?
1) Of course the first on the list is health, so I plan to cut out my sweet treats and do more exercising, which will include both swimming and walking.
2) I plan to make a few Christmas cards each month so that I am done by September/October.
3) I need to do more research and try to find an 'at home' job (If you know of anything, I would LOVE to hear from you). Due to my husbands disability, I can not work out and my health insurance just jumped up over $150 more a month - Yikes!! We can barely afford our current bills.
4) I want to start selling cards and beaded projects I make.
5) Long range goal is to design a line of digital stamps.

I think that should keep me more than busy, don't you think??

Today, I have a new card for you. It is Tilda, holding a flower. I used an older sketch from 'A Spoonful of Sugar'. I used a large snowflake punch in the two coordinating colors to add design to the white circle. I added a larger bead on the ribbon for a final touch. Hope you like it....

Tilda & Emma

Hope everyone is having a wonderful week thus far. Does your home look like the picture here... I know many of you are being hit with much snow and ice. I pray that you will be safe and warm. We finally had our first snowfall last night, it is all going away today but it is sure pretty to look at.

I have been so busy lately and have not had enough time to 'play' in my craft room but I finally finished a card I was working on. She is Tilda sitting pretty with a ray of rhinestones, wishing a Heartfelt Thanks to someone special.

I used Spellbinder standard and scalloped circle dies, the Martha Stewart border punch (this is one of my favorites) under the ribbons and a Cuttlebug die for the corner accents. I layered three different ribbons together and I liked how it came together (the second ribbon is very sparkly but the picture does not do it justice). I used pop dots to have Tilda and the sentiment stand out more. I love the K & Co papers and I distressed it with a coordinating color. The inside, I followed the same theme, using that gorgeous K & Co papers.

I have another card I want to share with you. It is one that my sister made and gave to me... oh, she is so cute and I am lucky to have it. The image is Emma from 'Fred She Said' and I love her dress. She did a fabulous job coloring her and adding that ribbon flower was the perfect touch.

I'm Still Here.....

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. Ours was busy but oh, so fun to be with my family.
So, did Santa bring you what you wanted - I would love to hear about your treasures.

I have been 'chill-in' these past couple of days so I will get myself back into my craft room today and start making some new projects. Hopefully, I will have something to share with you tomorrow.

I have also been blog hopping and there are sooooo many talented people out there...and boy, do I have a lot to learn yet.

Well I guess I have rambled on long enough, just wanted to let you know that I am still around. I am fighting a headache today, so will go take some extra strength Tylenol and have a can of Pepsi... believe it or not, it seems to work.

It is hard to believe that it is the day before Christmas Eve. I have been so busy with all the last minute activities and have had no time to post.

Wow, hard to believe that we are fast approaching Christmas day. I hope that you are all ready and now relaxing until the big day.

I found some great instructions on how to make a 'no tape' box & lid at The Character Cafe, here is a picture of the box bottom... . I will be giving this a try for I need a couple small boxes and it is nice to receive a handmade one, all decorated. Hope it comes in handy for you too.

Morning everyone... hard to believe we are half way through the week already.

I was doing a little Christmas trivia research and found some very interesting and fun facts... one is: In 1962, the U.S.Postal Service first did what? The answer = Issued it's first Christmas stamp. Now I would have thought this would have occurred a lot farther back than 1962.

Here is a little more trivia for you to think about... I will list them today and give you the answers tomorrow.

Now for today's card. This was a simple card and does not need any explaining, although, I noticed that I missed adding my little white accents to the image. Actually I think I did this on a few of them... have you ever done that too? Oh well, there is always next time. This cute image is from Cuddly Buddly and I liked how the felt border went with the fern background papers.

Little Santa & Christmas Traditions

Today has been a nice and relaxing day. I started making a flannel blanket and have it all sewn and now ready to tie. It is coming along nicely and I am sure my granddaughter will love it - it has little princesses on it and she is a sweet little princess (at least to me).

Here is a picture of her...

Christmas traditions - what is your favorite Christmas memories or traditions. I think the one that stands out the most for me were the times when we would go over to my parents on Christmas Eve. Now we spent ALL day together, snacking, playing table games and each year the food had a theme. My goodness, it was interesting to see what everyone would bring to go along with the theme. I think two of the most interesting ones was the fondues, now keep in mind, it met all the food group categories. Another one were waffles of ALL kinds and another one were grilled pocket sandwiches, the list goes on and on. They were fun times that I miss. Also my parents would buy a new table game and so we had to try it out... keep in mind they did this for over 30 years so they had quite a collection. Oh the fun times we had.... things are so different now and still trying to figure out what, if any traditions we have - I guess that comes with age and the passing of time.

Now for today's card. I have a little Santa for you. He was just so cute and I had fun adding fabric paint to his outfit, a pompom to his hat and I cut out and 3D his mustache, eyebrows and nose. I added flocking powder on his mustache and eyebrows which created a nice soft feel. The background paper was so pretty all by itself but I added a little more glitter to it. I added Radiant Pearls to the flowers and leaves and some other glittery accessories.

Tilda with Fern Basket & some Blog Candy

A new weeks starts and we have a little less than two weeks left until Christmas - Yikes!! I have 'finally' finished my Christmas cards but will probably make more and stash them away for next year.
Now to start on my granddaughters blanket.

Today, I have another Christmas card for you, this one is for the Just Magnolia challenge - it needed to be a Christmas card and so that made it easy. It is Tilda holding a basket of Christmas ferns... to create that, I punched a bunch of tiny ferns and glued them over the flowers in the basket. I also used a fair amount of glitter all over the card so it is nice and sparkly. I used some 3D stickers, gems and a charm to dress up the card... oh and I can not forget the little Santa hat - it was a bit smaller than I wanted, so I trimmed her hair a little so it would fit better.
The first picture shows the colors better for the second one turned out a bit too yellow.

Figure Eight Santa & Cookies

Things are cruising along here pretty well. Hope you are well on your way to completing those Christmas projects.

How many of you do Christmas baking and which one is your favorite? For me, it is hard to pick just one favorite but I will say the good old standbys, chocolate chip, peanut butter and of coarse sugar cookies. Although I love snicker doodles, yum, I will need to put that I my list of projects.

Today's card is using the Stamp for Fun challenge sketch #36 and a new Santa digi stamp I found at Squigglefly. He is skating figure eights around the project, well at least we can imagine him doing that. Again the card is a simple one, I was trying to keep the embellisments flat so it did not turn out as well as I would have liked. I needed something behind the glittery white foam snowflake so I punched out a spiked flower, cut it into quarters and adhered it to the back so that it sticks out. Winter Tilda Hanging Out

Happy Saturday everyone.
We are about to get hit with snow and ice this weekend but luckily, it will all return to our normal rain on Monday.
Hope everyone is well and not suffering with the colds and flu's that are going around. Just found out that my grandson has the H1N1 flu, poor little guy.

I had some time to make a few cards today, some I put a little more time in and others, I was trying to hurry so that I can get my Christmas cards completed. Only 4 more to go.... it costs more to mail the ones with the fancy or bumpy embellishments so I decided to make some that were flatter. I actually found that to be hard to do, since I have been into all the fun accessories.

Well today, I have a card with Winter Tilda, following the Midnight Madness MMSC31 challenge. It is a rather simple card so will not go into a lot of details. I did put Radiant Pearls on the flowers & leaves to create some shimmer, the rest is self explanatory.

Little Bear with Candy Cane

Hard to believe that another week has flown by. We are suppose to start warming up this weekend to a balmy 40 degrees, after we transition through a little snow or freezing rain. I do not plan to go anywhere for I have a ton to get done here.
My goal for the weekend is to finish any remaining Christmas cards - almost done now....
Then finish decorating the house, then I have to get going on the blanket I plan to make for my granddaughter. Plenty to keep my busy.

Today, I have a card using another great template I found on Just Magnolia under (Jane's Lovely Cards) and on her blog, it directs you to Marga's blog (Scrap Some) where you will find the template. I love this one, the actual card front section is a bit smaller than what I am used to working with but there are so many possible ways to dress it up. This is a Christmas card (what else) and I added a LOT of glitter to all the accessories and edging. I did not take a picture of the back but I added a small sentiment and left an area to sign our names. The image is a digi stamp from Dustin Pike, they have some really cute digi stamps and this was a freebie. I found some candy DP from Basic Grey that fit the design and I punched out the center of the "Happy Holiday" sentiment, mounted it on green CS and then cut out one of the little candies from the DO paper and mounted it in the center of the sentiment.... of course, I added more glitter.

Skating Teddies in a Frame...

Morning everyone. Oh Brrrr - it is 'freezing' outside - litterally. Hope you are staying warm where you are.

I love the Christmas season but it sure can take a lot out of you, hate to say this but I will be glad when things slow down a bit after the new year. Although I have to get back to looking for a job.... if you know of any legitimate 'work at home' jobs in the admin/customer service, reporting, etc, send me an email, I would very much appreciate your help.

Now for today, I have been really wanting to try out this new card template that I found on 'Gramma's House of Cards', Sharon did an awesom job - she has the link to where you can find the template. It is a framed card, really fun to do and was surprised to find it was not all that hard to make. Most of it was deciding what papers and embellishments to use. I love these cute digi images from Cuddly Buddly Crafts and could not resist using the Skating Teddies - it is a free digi, so drop on over and take a look at their great stamp designs. I am not promoting them, I just really like their cute images.
On the bears, I used green Radiant pearls on the holly leaves, red fabric paint for the holly berries and liquid applique for the white fluffy areas on the hats. I do not own one of those great snowflake border punches from Martha Stewart so I punched snowflakes, added glitter to them for added sparkle and placed them around the frame. I also added glitter to a larger foam snowflake and punched a Martha Stewart leaf and then punched mini holly leaves and glued them to the other leaves, these made my own holly leaves branches ...a very pleasant discovery . The recessed area of the card, I have a graphic of some trees and snow (for the life of me, I can not remember where I found it), I added glitter to the snow for added sparkle.
The inside of the card is fairly simple and color coordinated.

Catching up....

Hello everyone. Sorry that I have been MIA lately... there is soooo much to do and so little time to get everything done before Christmas. I can blame no one but myself, for I tend to wait until the last minute before I get going. That will be one of my main New Years Resolutions - start early!!

I have not had any time to make some new cards to post. One of the things I love to do is recycle Christmas cards I received from previous years. They are too pretty to throw out, so I like to cut out and make new cards with the fronts and then I may dress them up with glitter or anything else that they may need. They go together more quickly and I still end up with some nice looking cards. I always say, why waste a good thing.

I want to thank you all for being patient and stopping by to see if I have anything new.... I will try to get something by or before this weekend.

Is it cold where you are? Right now, we are having an arctic blast - luckily there is no precipitation, so we are being spared the snow but it is windy and icy cold.

I know that Thanksgiving has passed but I wanted to share a couple pictures of my grandkids.

The first one is Chace holding his new little sister Chevelle and the second is Chevelle who looks annoyed with all the fuss.... and do you notice the cat checking her out - how cute.

Cherry Kisses Christmas

Another day and here we are. My head has been swimming with all the things that I need to get done, so I wrote them all down. Now I am checking them off, my goal is to see how many I can get done today... wish my luck - LOL.

Today, I am using this adorable image from Tales from Pollycraft. When I saw her, I thought of pink and blue... I used some embellishments that are covered with shimmery glitter. I also made my charm out of a blue heart shaped bead. I put some flocking powder (Martha Stewart) under the snowball to add a more snowy effect.

Tilda with Sparkly Hood

Hope everyone is having a happy Saturday. I ventured out today to pick something up from the craft store and was prepared to tackle the crowds, but was pleasantly surprised to find the stores like normal - that was a relief since I am not a fan of crowds.

I have another Christmas Tilda card for you today, following the Friday Sketchers #80 challenge. I just love this particular Tilda and I decided to put glitter on her hooded trim. It really dressed up the outfit so I added a little more down on her coat. The button are actually very tiny black pompoms that I glued on. The flowers were made with shimmery red CS and then added gems & crystal snowflakes for the centers. It is hard to notice but I used yellow paint for yellow dots on the poinsettia's.

A warm 'hello' to all on this wonderful day and hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day.

Today officially kicks off the Christmas season - even though it has been in the stores these past two months. Now to bring out the decorations - that will be interesting for we have two new cats, they are 7 months old and very active. I need to figure out 'what' decorations to put up that they will not get into - if that is possible - LOL!!

Today I have for you a Christmas card using an adorable digi image from Tales from Pollycraft. I just love this bear.. the star has glitter so it shines, I used white iridescent paint for the snow and snowflakes, white flocking powder on the hat and mitten. The background paper has wonderful shiny red details so I made shiny accents with punches. The same with the inside.... this picture does not do the card justice.

Tilda Sitting on a Log

Morning everyone. My goodness, it is very cold and foggy out in my neck of the woods - Brrr!!

I posted a card late last night but I decided to post another one this morning since I was able to get a couple completed yesterday.

Today's card is fitting with leaves everywhere. I have Tilda sitting on a log, giggling, with leaves all around her. The leaves have Diamond Glaze on them, so they shine...hard to see it in the pic. I used a border punch in two colors to add trim to the top border. I am following the sketch from Mojo Monday 114. The designer paper has the look of leaves falling down.

Hootie Pie Christmas

Hello everyone. I assume by now, you may have thought that I had given up my mojo challenge. Actually, I was very busy with other commitments and did not have time to get into my craft room. I really did miss it. Well I think that I am back into the groove but with the holidays fast approaching, I will need to divert my attention to getting ready. So my posts may be a bit, hit and miss but, I hope that you will stop by to see if I have anything new.

I like to blog hop and see all the amazing cards that everyone makes... so many talented people. One thing that I noticed are the wonderful background papers that so many use. So I decide to take the plunge and order me some. They came and I am in Heaven..... now I have to decide which one to use first - LOL.

Today I have a Christmas card (you will be seeing A LOT of these) and followed the Friday Sketchers 79 challenge. I just love this cute owl from Pink Cat Studio, called Hootie Pie. I added white Flower Soft on the hat to give it dimension and a little shimmer. I also put glitter on the branches and little snowflakes - it is hard to see it. Naturally 'after' I had it put together, I wanted to add another layer on my flower but it was too late.

Tilda Day Dreaming.....

Hope today finds you all well and happy.

I seem to be losing some of my mojo for I am struggling with coming up with some 'wow' cards. I play around with different things but just cannot come up with anything that makes me think 'wow'. So today, I have a 'so-so' card to show you, I kept with a Christmas theme. I made my flowers, Cuttlebugged to create texture and inked the edges. I created a frame for Tilda so that she can pop out more, added pearls around it and it is speckled with white but it is hard to see. I love this new border punch (well at least it is new for me) from Martha Stewart.

Well that is about all.... I would REALLY LOVE to hear from you on what I could have done to make it a 'wow' card.

Billy Staying Warm & more blog candies

Happy Friday everyone. I have a busy weekend planned, but they always are. I hope I can squeeze in some stamping time. I do hope the rain will stop for a couple days for our lawn is getting more yellow with all the leaves dropping and I just have not felt like getting out in the rain to tackle the job.

I was trying to complete a card for Friday Sketchers but did not get it done in time for I have been fighting headaches. I finally finished it this morning and like how it turned out - it looks better in person than the photo. Since it is all glittery, I am including it in two other challenges, Allsorts Challenge and Cute Card Thursday - Glitter me silly. The snowflake is a free graphic that I enlarged, cut out and added glitter so that it sparkles. I love this color combo, using papers from DCWV and the image is Billy Hot Cocoa from Pink Cat Studio. They have a bunch of cute digi stamps. I used liquid applique on his marshmellows so that they puff up and look real. I finished it off with some rhinestones for some added glitz.

Emma Playing in the Leaves

Happy Wednesday everyone. It sure has been raining a lot here and snowing big time in our cascade mountains.... the ski lifts are already open. Now I am not a skier, actually I would be a danger for anyone around me if I was on skies....I tried it a couple times many years ago and that was enough for a lifetime. LOL

Today I have an autumn card for you. I used a digi image called Emma in the Leaves by Fred She Said. I also used digi background paper from Cuddly Buddly , they went so well together. Emma looked like she was having fun, playing with the leaves.
Our trees in the neighborhood have had beautiful fall colors, it is a joy to drive around to see them all but they are also dropping their leaves a little more quickly due to the wind and rains we are having. So it seemed fitting to use this image.

After I posted this card this morning, I decided to finish off in the inside... here it is.

MMSC#26 & More Blog Candy

Hope everyone had a great weekend. I was either busy or fighting a migraine so I did not get any cards made. My back is giving me fits so I will be going in to see the Chiropractor today, then I will be much better.

So today, I have a card for two challenges. One is for the Midnight Madness (MMSC) #26 where I followed a sketch and the other is for Creative Card Crew #35 where I had to include ribbon and gems.
It came together pretty well, I bought some more colored Prismacolor markers and so I just had to try them out. I love the sage/olive greens. I made more flowers to match the card and I used a different Cuttlebug design on the flowers. I inked the edges of the cream colored leaves and then added some ribbon and gems.

Penny Black Christmas Kitty

Well another week has zipped by and I am looking forward to the weekend, it will be a busy one as usual.

Today I made a card for the Penny Black Saturday #73 challenge... it was to be all white on white. The image could be colored but the rest had to be all in white. I made a larger sized card for I wanted to use this adorable Christmas kitty. I used my Cuttlebug to add texture to the CS and punches for flowers and borders.

Sunflower Tilda

I have another card I wanted to share with you today - I am late in getting this posted but better late than never.

I received this wonderful card from Beth Babcock from the Magnoli-icious Yahoo group. She was too cute to not share, she is in Halloween colors but carries a nice fall theme too. The pumpkin is a thick peice of felt, really cool. She has nice soft colors and has shimmer on her hair and flower.

Christmas Ice Cream Cone

Hope this finds everyone well and happy. With this swine flu going around, I am almost afraid to go to the stores but my craft stores are calling me.....

Today I made a card using Tilda in Christmas colors and some new flower digital images from Fred She Said for the Digital Tuesday Challenge at Fred She Said. They were fun to color and layer. I did add silk leaves and a trimmed down dark red silk flower on the bottom and then put the digital flower & leaves stamps on the top. I also painted them with Radiant Pearls to give them some shimmer and a soft yellow pearl in the center to finish it off.

Lily Hot Cocoa in Yellow

Hard to believe that we are already have way through this week - where does the time go?

Today, I have a card for this weeks A Spoon Full of Sugar sketch 76 challenge. I decided to use a new digi image from Pink Cat Studio, she is called Lily Hot Cocoa. I used liquid applique on all of her white fuzzy areas and the marshmellows. I really like that stuff.... I layered up punched and Prima flowers to make my flower. I also used a Spellbinder Fluer De Lis and Scalloped Circle that is layered behind Lily. I Cuttlebugged some white CS for some additional texture.

Hope you like her, she was fun to make. I did struggle with finding the right combination of papers, I am thinking that I need 'more' new papers, what you do you think??

Tilda in Pink & Teal

Today, I have another Tilda card for you, she is just so cute and they are fun to color. In the evening, I watch some TV and decided that I would practice my coloring. This has been fun and I then I have to find papers to match, I usually do it the other way around.

This card is following the Sketch Saturday #75 challenge and it was a fun one to do. For my card, the only thing I was not real happy with was that the flowers seemed too big for the space. I tried a smaller punch but it was too small. I feel like Goldilocks, I needed that middle one... oh well.

Waiting Tilda in Pink

Happy Monday everyone. Whoa, what a busy weekend we had. I was coloring a Tilda and was drawn to the color pink so I decided to make a monochromatic card for the Just Magnolia challenge. It was fun to make, I followed the Friday Sketchers 76 Challenge design and thought it came out pretty good. I was challenged to find the right combination of designer papers to use and so decided to use the Cuttlebug on white to help the texture and design. I also used Liquid Applique on Tilda's scarf so that it puffed up and looked all soft and warm.

Betty Pie Monochromatic

Happy Friday to everyone. Hard to believe another week has passed, it went by so quickly. Today, my daughter is dropping off their two dogs for us to 'dog sit' for the weekend. It will be a crazy time around here with three dogs in our small home, along with our two cats who have NOT met them yet. I am sure at least one of them will stay under the bed most of the time.

Well today, I have a monochromatic card for last weeks Friday Sketchers challenge. I was not able to complete it in time. I used all coordinating papers from Stampin Up and to dress it up, I decided to make some flowers and added a charm for that special touch. I used another digi stamp from Pink Cat Studio, I think they are so cute.

My Furry Friends

I do not have a card to post today...unless I get some time later today. So I thought I would share with you our two new furry friends. They are both only 6 months old and FULL of energy. Oh my, we have water bottles in almost every room but I think they are getting used to them, for they do not scare as they first did. They insist on going where they are NOT suppose to. They are both strictly indoor cats.

The gray tabby is 'Abby' and she is the one that can keep us busy. She has NO fear and will do what she KNOWS she is not suppose to do, right in front of us - Bad Girl!! Although she is a real lovey and will want to be petted and then purr, purr and purr.

The tortoise is 'Penny' and she is a sweetheart. She gets spooked so easily and will make a mad dash for run under our bed. So needless to say, when we do have company (not very often), she will spend the whole time under the bed. Otherwise, she is a lovey girl and will purr when petted.

We have a little basket and they both love to sleep in it. When they were much smaller, they could both get in it without any issues. Now they still want to both be in there but there is not enough room, so one will lay 'on top' of the other one...so cute. One of them will finally give up and go somewhere else to sleep.

And of course, we have our 'old' pooch, 'Apollo'. He is an Australian Cattle Dog and a little over 13, actually he may be getting closer to 14 years old. He is having some health issues but they are minor at this time. We cannot take him for walks anymore due to his arthritis. He LOVES people and animals and is totally an indoor dog. Every year, in the early summer, we take him in for a buzz, he has a thick coat of fur and he LOVES it when he gets his cut - makes him so much cooler in the summer. When his coat grows back in, it is thick and black.

Lily in Red & Green

Good day to you all. I found this adorable digi stamp at Pink Cat Studio. They have some really fun designs to use. I like the way you can adjust the size to match the card you are making.
This time I used colored pencils and it did not turn out as well as I would have liked...I think I will go back to my Prismacolor markers. This card is for the MMSC25 challenge, I used the Fleur De Lis Spellbinder die and cut it in half - I liked how it showed some of the background. I added pearls to the center of the flowers which fit right in with the background paper. It is hard to see but I used Liquid Applique for her 'muff'. To follow the MMSC design, I needed a buckle but I did not have one so I used something else in my stash to create a similiar look.

Snowflake Tilda

It is sure raining here in the Pacific NW and snowing in the mountains. I am hoping that we do not get early snow like last year.

Today, I made a card for the Just Magnolia challenge. For some reason, I seemed to find it hard to decide which DP to use and whether to layer them or not. I guess we all have those kind of days. I used the snowflake Cuttlebug to create the texture on the white scalloped oval. You can purchase both of these at 7 Kids College Fund. I used a combination of punches to create the floral snowflakes.
My camera was not cooperating with me, so it has too much glare and a tinge of yellow. This is something I need to improve my skills on but you will be able get the idea.

Christmas Cardinal

Hope you had a good weekend. Mine was a bit on the sad side for I attended my brother in law's memorial. He was such a wonderful person and it is hard to see someone get sick and pass away so soon. He was greatly blessed with a lovely wife and a fantastic son. He lived his life with a testimonial to God and it carried through until his last days.

Now onto my card for today. It is for the MMSC24 challenge. Whoa, that was a hard sketch for me to come up with what to do. I decided to turn it on it's side.

I wanted to make it a Christmas theme, which you will see more of. I used the Spellbinder to create the basic shapes and the rest was coloring and a little bling. I did not get a chance to complete the inside....will do that later.

CAS Just Magnolia

I will have to say, at first, I was finding it hard to make a 'Clean and Simple' card for the Magnolia-licious Highlights challenge. I keep looking at it and thinking that it needs something here or there.... and then I have to stop myself and say "no, keep it simple".

I made two cards - the first one is a fall colored theme. I could not resist making a flower for the fall card, it just seemed like a good fit - I did Cuttlebug the gold portion of the flower to give it some added design. I used the Spellbinder Fleur De Lis die and some pearls to finish it off.

I wasn't going to add any design elements to the inside but I had already cut out a gold flower, so I decided to not waste it and create another flower for the inside too.

I was having fun, so I decided to make another card. This one has that 'fresh' look with white and a bold color. I used the Cuttlebug to create a design on white. Spellbinder dies and brads and it completed the card.

This paper matched the color scheme and was a clean and simple way to decorate the inside.

Penguin in Pink

This has been such a busy week and it is not quite over yet. Today I have a card that I made, following two different challenges. One is a color challenge by Our Creative Corner and the second is Mojo Monday 109.

I pulled out one of my favorite little penguins, I think he is so cute and was fun to color. This is another easel card, just love these. It was pretty easy to put together, I used punches and ribbon for the finishing touches. I ran the punched swirls through my Xyron sticker machine and it worked perfectly.

This was a fun challenge from 'Stampin for the Weekend' and a quick one to make for I did not add a lot of extra's. I have seen some cards with red, black and white and thought that this would be a good combo for this card. I used a set called Rain or Shine from My Favorite Things - it ties well with the rain we are getting. You can get My Favorite Things from Addicted to Rubber Stamps.

Rust & White - Penny Black

Today, I am sharing the challenge I made for Penny Black. I have been wanting to use some of the new two sided papers from StampinUp, they have some really nice rich earthy colors - oohh, I love earthy tones. I found a brush stroke stamp that would work perfect for this color and I was even more surprised to find an ink pad that matched the color perfect !!

I also used my new punch from EK Success (I bought it at Gina K Designs), just love these swirls.... you will see a lot of them in the future. I had fun making my little flowers, I am getting totally addicted to making paper flowers. My mind is already thinking of ways to cut and alter the look of them.

Snowbella's First Snowfall

It is another rainy day today in the Pacific Northwest. As I do my errands, I am enjoying all the gorgeous fall colors. I think I will take a picture of my favorite (that will be hard) and design a card around it - I will let you know when it is complete.

I was looking through my stamps and found so many that are screaming, "me next!!". I actually have a lot of stamps that have never been 'inked', oh dear. So I am going to challenge myself to use more of my stamps.

Today, I have Snowbunnybella to show off. She is just so cute and I love her big cheesy smiles, you can find her at Addicted to Rubber Stamps, as well as a host of other stamps and supplies.

I am using the Pixie Cottage Challenge (their first one) and it was fun to make. I picked some wintry bold colors and added Liquid Applique to her fuzzy parts of her outfit. It is hard to see, but it is white and puffy - I did learn this time that I need to add more so that the 'fluff' will be thicker. So what can I fluff up next.... oh well, moving on.
To create the larger scalloped border, I took the corner guard off of the punch so I could position it to create a straight line.

Tilda Mojo Monday 108

I hope you are having a good weekend. Here, it has been raining, but that is why it is so nice and green in the northwest.

Today, I have completed my Mojo Monday 108 challenge card, in the nick of time.... again. I used a sweet Tilda, I sure love this little angels. I have seen others make hand made flowers and decided to give it a try... oh what fun. I did try putting some glitter on the edges of one of them but I did not like how it turned out. The one I made on the front of the card, I embossed to create more texture, the ones inside, I left plain but I like them both. I used some Flower Soft for the flowers in the basket, it is first time I used it and I do like the look. It is hard to see, but it adds some nice texture too.

Sorry about the photos, it has been hard to get good coloring due to the gloomy weather outside and the inside light tends to create more yellowing. I have done my best to alter them with photo programs. It still does not reflect the best coloring but it is better than the actual photo.

Tilda Leaves - MMSC23

I stayed up late last night making this card. It was so much fun, I just love fall leaves and I wanted to make something for the Midnight Madness week 23 challenge.

Midnight Madness is having their first Blog Hop, where you have a chance to win a fabulous prize. It is so much fun to hop to all the blogs, collect the clues and enjoy seeing all the cards that were made by so many talented artists.

For my card, Tilda was holding a bird but I put a pumpkin in it's place. The basket and rake were from a Sandylion sticker set and it helped to make the scene complete. To follow the sketch, I needed something to fan around the image and so the obvious choice for me was leaves.

Fleur De Lis

Today, I have a simple card to share but it was fun to make.
I love this particular die from Spellbinders and wanted to make a card using the Fleur De Lis.
I picked a simple tan/cream tone and tone theme for a masculine feel. I inked the edges and created the flower in the center using a punch, cut slits, rounded them with the end of a paint brush, turned one down and the other up, then put a pearl in the center. The lighter card stock has a nice shimmery look, hard to see with the pictures and the lighting was not the best to capture the look and feel of the card.

Friday Sketcher Wk 73

I have two posts for today, this one is for the Friday Sketcher Week 73 challenge.

I decided to use this sketch to make a sympathy card for my sister. Her husband passed away this past Sunday. He is no longer in pain and is now with the Lord, Praise God!! He will be greatly missed. I wanted to give the card to her before I posted it here, since she would see it.

This was a fun challenge and it worked great for this card.
I did not have the right coordinating paper to go with my main background paper, so I two different inks to alter one that was close. Then I stamped roses on it, so it would blend with the background. Well that is about all.

Christmas Tilda

Today, I thought that I would put on some Christmas music and make a Christmas card for the Just Magnolia challenge. I love this sketch and it was a lot of fun to make. After looking through my paper stash, I found some that I wanted to use, a couple of them I cut out what I wanted, like the green strips and the Christmas trees. I punched some snowflakes and added a rhinestone in the center but they still looked a little plain, so I added some glitter for a nice sparkly effect.

I am not sure about you, but I am finding that it sure takes me a long time to complete one card... how about you?

Wedding Pictures

I do not have a card for you today but instead, I thought that I would share with you pictures that our son sent to us of their wedding. They wanted a simple little wedding and it all worked out really well. They live in Hawaii, so we do not have the $$ to fly over as much as we would like. Because we do not get to see them much, I will say, that we absolutely LOVE our web cam so we can stay in touch and be able to watch the grand kids grow up.
My son, Cory married Joelyn and they have two beautiful children, Chace (4 years) and Chevelle (1 month). Chace was having fun, playing in the water while they said their vows. The other little boy in one of the pictures (holding a handmade coconut basket) is their nephew and the grand kids cousin.

Just Magnolia Mishap

Have you ever had one of those days, when you started a project as one thing and then it ended up something else? Well that is what happened to me. I was starting to make a Just Magnolia challenge card and then I remembered that I needed to make a birthday card but it needed to be masculine. By the time I decided on what image I was going to use and made most of the card, I realized I did not use any Magnolia stamps, YIKES!!!!
Well, I thought I would share it with you anyways. The layout was fun to use and I chose an ocean theme in blues and sandy tans. I painted Radiant Pearls on the punched branches to give them a shimmery look. I used some mesh (you can get a large roll at the hardware store), this projects a fish net look and feel to the card.

Mojo Monday #107

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. I finally completed my card for this week's Mojo Monday challenge # 107. I know, I am cutting it close, since tomorrow is Monday, and a new challenge comes out. At first, I did not know what theme I wanted to make with it and then I decided that I would make a Christmas card, my 'first' Christmas card.

I used an ornament stamp from OnyxXpressions that I have had in my stash for quite some time but never used. I also pulled out my embossing glitters which I have not used in some time. The decorative papers were from the Winter Wonderland collection from K & Company. These papers are so pretty all by themselves, I hate to cover them with anything, do you have that problem, lol.

Halloween Tilda

Well since Halloween is not too far away, I thought I would make a card for the occasion. I do not have any of the Halloween Tilda's, so I took the Tilda Gathers Straw and cut away the hay field. This one came together pretty well, I used the Martha Stewart doily lace punch to create the border on the front and the corners on the inside. The ghost die cuts were given to me a long time ago, so I do not know who made them. I added two strips of black on the orange striped DP to have it pop out more.

Tilda & Beaver

Happy Thursday,
I was thinking of what to make next and saw the new challenge from Magnolia-lious Highlights, an easel card. At first, I was not sure about it but after looking at the template and reading the instructions, the base card was easy to make...of course, there is the challenge of what to put on it - for me, that is the hardest part.

Usually, I will pick out my papers before my card stock, but this time, I did it in reverse. So my challenge was to find papers to go with it. I finally decided on this pack of DCWV 'Green Stack' recyclable papers. They have some really fun and cute designs to pick from. The beaver is actually on the paper, so I cut one out from another sheet and popped it up onto a Spellbinders scalloped circle. I also cut two Spellbinders scalloped circle frames to, 'frame' Tilda. You can get a lot of different Spellbinder dies at 7 Kids College Fund. I did not have the colors of flowers to coordinate, so I used a couple of Prima paper flowers and colored them with my Prismacolor markers. I replaced dark brown strip on the paper with one that has shimmery gold in it, it may be hard to see it on the photos.

This is what the inside of the base card looks like....using more Spellbinder scalloped circles.

This was so much fun to make and I will definately will be making more of the easel cards in the future.

Good morning, what can be a better way to start the day, than to share with you a card I made with the adorable Tilda. I think she is just too cute and wished I could have 'all' of them - maybe one day, lol.

I really liked the DP from K & Co and was trying to figure out what to do with it...well, this is what I came up with. Hard to see but Tilda is popped up for a little extra dimension and I am really getting into sewing the cards, so I had to add a little here too.

Life is So Much Easier

Happy Tuesday everyone. Oh my goodness, I could not believe that it was down in the 30's this morning, brrrrr!!!! Well, that allowed me more time in my craft room, which I am enjoying immensely.

Today, I completed a Friday Sketchers challenge. I just love the layout and will make another one.

Trying to break away from my pinks and found some blue-green papers, that I thought would be perfect for this one. To create a more 3D look, I popped up the saying and flowers.

Pretty in Pink

Good morning, well, it is where I am. I having a fun time looking for and trying out different design challenges, there are so many different ones to pick from. Wished I had time to try them all.

Today, I made a card from the Midnight Madness 21 challenge.

I was looking through my paper stash, I sure have a lot of pink..... so you will be seeing a lot of it.
This one featured a pink and brown theme. Most of my flowers are made out of silk hydrangeas and I just removed all of the petals. This way, I can mix and match as needed. I have found it is much cheaper too. For this one, I took a tan petal and inked it with a darker brown to go better with the card colors. Added a little beaded accent and voila!

It's The Little Things

I thought it would be fun to change my background to reflect an autumn feel and ran across one I really liked on One Cute Blog, It was so cute. Hope you enjoy it too.

I had a wonderful day today, no errands so I spent most of the day in my craft room. I have not had the opportunity to do that for quite some time and it felt great. I managed to complete a couple cards.

I was pretty pleased with how this card turned out. The layout was for the Stamp with Fun Challenge.
The flowers are soft, like suede and the background designer paper is shiny and sparkly. Everything else seemed to fall into place. I just LOVE these colors, I guess that is why I love the fall season.
It may be hard to see, but I used the Cuttlebug to create texture on the dark green card stock.

Bright and Bold

It has been a bit cloudy here so I thought that I would make a card to brighten things up. Tilda is wearing a new hat from Stampin Up, I found the hats in this one set I have, fit her head quite nicely. Even with all the papers and card stock that I have, I sometimes find it hard to come up with a combination that goes well with each other.

Mojo Monday Challenge #106

Today, I decided to try this weeks Mojo Monday Challenge. I wanted to create an antique look by inking and crumpling the edges, not something I usually do. I was trying to decide what to put in the center of my flower and found this large brad from K & Company, that was a perfect fit.
My coloring on Tilda was not the best and I am finding that Prismacolor markers do not have as many different colors as does the Copics, I will have to think about this one for I love the alchohol markers.

Sweet Little Baby Chevelle

I thought that I would share with you some fabulous news, I have a new granddaughter, Chevelle. She was born on Sept 1st and is so sweet. Unfortunately, they live in Hawaii, so we have not been able to hold her, but with the amazing technology of this era, we have a web cam. We have been able to talk to our son and his family, and see our newest member of the family, Chevelle. First I will share with you a couple pictures of Chevelle, one of them shows our grandson, Chace, holding his new little sister, now how sweet is that.

I made a card for them. It does not have any stamped images, instead I used an awesome set of 3D stickers from K & Company. It was a fun card to make, using Spellbinders dies, Cuttlebug for a little texture, and I am becoming addicted to machine sewing around the edges. With all the 3D effects both outside and inside, this turned out to be a thicker card, but worth it.

Wedding Card

Hard to believe that the weekend went by so quickly. It was a beautiful and busy time. Much to do this coming week and I am trying to decide what to make next....

Well this time, I wanted to share with you a wedding card I made for my niece and now nephew. Unfortunately, we were not able to join them at the wedding, it was in Hawaii. Of course, I would have loved to go, not only for the wedding but one of my husbands sister lives there, as well as our son and his family - hopefully someday.

This card was fun and challenging to make. I copied part of the design from Becca Freeken at Amazing Paper Grace, you will need to scroll down a ways to see this particular card. I was fairly pleased with how it turned out. The poem inside was beautiful and just had to use it. It features the use of Spellbinders dies, they are so much fun to use and a lot of pearls. Sorry about the note I wrote inside, I had meant to take a picture of it before I wrote that.... oh well.

I have not yet figured out how to add a watermark to my pictures, that is one of the next things to research. I think I have finally figured out how to add a link.

My First Tilda

Good morning everyone, at least it is morning where I am and it is a chilly one...I let the dog out and brrrr, it was cold outside. I had to go check the temp and sure enough , it was only 40 degrees outside.

Today's card was my first Tilda. I paper pieced the hat and dress, that was fun and easy. It was also my first attempt at face coloring and it did not turn out an nice as I would have liked...this will take some practice and finding the right combination of markers to do it. It is hard to see but I have pearls going along the lace. Also hard to see is that I used the Cuttlebug to provide texture to the brown weaved paper pattern.

Gecko Birthday

I hope everyone has survived the week and looking forward to our first fall weekend. Around here (NW Oregon), the weather is definitely changing... much colder in the mornings and it takes longer to warm up during the day. I do look forward to the beautiful fall colors as the trees start to change.

Today I am going to show you a card I made for my son's birthday. I am addicted to Tilda from Magnolia but thought, he would like something a little more masculine. This is what I came up with and I hope you will like it too.

Tilda Sitting Pretty

I thought that I would post my first card. She was fun to make, my hardest decisions are which papers to use... I sure hope I am not the only one with this problem.

Most of you seem to use Copics but I found they were a bit expensive for me and so I looked for an alternate solution. I am using Prismacolor markers. They work the same as Copics but the tips are different. So far, they are working great.

Joining the ranks in cyberland

It seems that everyone these days has a blog and/or using twitter or other online communication tools. I have spent a lot of time reading others blogs, being inspired by everyone's creative talent and finally decided to create my own. I have a love of crafts, that was due to my mother...she was always doing some sort of craft, I only wished I inherited half of her talent. My style seems to navigate towards simple, elegant and a lot of cute.

First and foremost, I LOVE making cards and other paper projects. I also love to make beaded projects so you may see one pop up here from time to time.

I hope that you will stop by and let me know what you think of my paper creations.
Also please bear with me as I learn the tricks to blogging.
